Action Against Burglary & Scams Presentation

Following the success of the Action Against Burglary project of 2010, our secretary, David, has obtained funding from Pendle Community Safety Partnership

to deliver a Burglary and Scams presentation to groups of older people across Pendle. These will be delivered between September 2011 and the and of August 2012.

The presentation consists of two films of about 15 minutes duration and a talk about the subjects in question.  This will be followed by a question and answer session. The whole presentation will last for about one hour.

The Burglary aspect repeats the message about security around the home and in particular addresses bogus callers and property repairers. The Scams side highlights the problem of people responding to bogus mail promising fortunes if you only provide your bank details. Many have lost thousands of pounds by being taken in by these unscrupulous thieves.

David is available afternoons and evenings and our own sound and vision system (speakers, projector and screen) is available if needed.  There is no charge for the presentation and refreshments can be provided.
